First of all, I know a few have messaged to ask if they had missed these updates as there hadnโt been any for a few weeks
The answer is no
I have been spending a little less time down the gym recently, while we worked on a few new things coming out for both FitPro Lead Gen & LeadDec
Plus I have been away in both Sheffield & Dublin for events
Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for those things coming soon ๐ช
Moving on… In the last few weeks, at the gym we have:
โ sorted out the automation & follow-ups for all new members starting
โ moved away from PTMinder & joined TeamUp
โ launched another 6-week challenge
โ planned the Christmas & new year campaigns
Plus, the biggest oneโฆ Finished last month with the highest revenue since opening
This will be the best place to start this week’s update as although we have hit our record revenue
We are not back at our highest number of clients
1๏ธโฃ If you go back to the last update, we talked about collecting โyearlyโ or โ4 for 3โ payments, this does make a big difference to revenue
Offering yearly commitment during their first week, then โ4 for 3โ in week 3, does get a few early clients across the line. Likewise offering it out to current members can add a quick boost too
A note at this point, we only offer this offer to a limited number of current clients each quarter to not take too much away from the monthly recurring pot
2๏ธโฃ We also charge a little more these days than we did, when we had our highest clients
Currently, we charge ยฃ189 for the 6-week challenge, then either ยฃ97 for 3 a week or ยฃ117 for unlimited
โญ๏ธ moving onโฆ
In preparation for the new year & a big client intake in January, we are also in talks about changing up the timetable a little
Pre-C19, we ran sessions every 45 minutes, then C19 came along & we switched to starting the 45 minutes on the hour, giving staff & clients a 15-minute gap between sessions
The aim is to move into the new year by adding 1 extra session in the AM & 1 extra session in the PM, meaning we will be going back-to-back with a few sessions to allow us to fit the extra session in
This is also requiring us to consider session set-up with the warm-ups & cool downs to not rush clients out but likewise allow us to get that extra session in
Another bit thing we are also starting to implement for all new clients joining is that unlimited is only 6 sessions a week & you can only do 1 session a day
Taking this step now will allow for the extra capacity when we close in on the higher client numbers
๐ญ Going back to why I started documenting everything, one of the first things I outlined was working on retention
Having always been good at being able to generate leads, ensuring we were making the sales, and then keeping the clients for the long term was a big factor during the early weeks
Now, I know we are only around 7-8 weeks in since starting all this, but what the numbers are showing is that our monthly/full-time member numbers are INCREASING ๐
Especially for those who complete the 6-week challenge, this has always been one of our biggest issues, not converting enough of them onto monthly memberships
There is still a little to go on this, but the early changes are starting to show
Be sure to check back over the updates to see what changes we have made so far
๐ต while hitting our highest revenue is a great thing, we are also closing in on our highest expense per month too
The bloody energy crisis is pushing prices up all over, which means looking at things we can cut back/save on, is something for us to look into this next week
๐ We are now in November, or the Christmas season, these are the times that new member intake slows down, the worst thing you could do now is stop advertising & pushing your services
Honestly, if you stop pushing your programmes, challenges & services, you are going to struggle into the new year
What we need to be working on now, is coming up with inventive offers that keep pulling in the leads & sales into your fitness business, either for now or for the start of the new year
We have had a few back & forths as a team & finally conclude on what we are going to do this year
As we did start with the plan of offering 21 days for ยฃ21 as an easy sell, while also running December for FREE if they pay for the first 2023 6-week challenge
Since then, I have spoken with a few others, in particular, a studio up in Birmingham & we have changed our plan of attack a little, here is what we are going to doโฆ
1๏ธโฃ Run a 21-day for ยฃ69, that starts on December the first, everyone who enters will have a chance of winning ยฃ250, all they need to do is complete a few tasks to be entered into the draw
Current clients can also enter for a nominal fee, we are thinking ยฃ10-20
For this, we have ordered a few Christmas outfits & plan to record a few videos around Cardiff to use for our marketing campaigns to get people to sign up
We do well, with our ยฃ20 deposit set-up for our 6-week challenge directly from paid ads, therefore with a little extra on the sales page, I could see the ยฃ69 payment be completed directly from ads too
2๏ธโฃ We are also increasing the price of the first challenge of 2023 by ยฃ20, taking it from ยฃ189 to ยฃ209
With this also running alongside our 21-day offer, we are going to offering prospects the opportunity to secure their spot on the first challenge of 2023 for just ยฃ20 or pay the full balance now & train for FREE during December
Having both of these offers should ensure we are still taking new payments during November & December
๐ก Finally, I wanted to talk about something I learnt from another FitPro while over in Dublin
Something I said during my keynote was that networking & talking to others will always benefit your fitness business, even if the FitPro you are talking to is not at your business level
Anywayโฆ something we had always done & I mentioned this a few weeks back, was that when it came to converting clients to long-term memberships, we would have a catch-up in week 5 to ensure we donโt miss anyone
Yet, as we know clients dodge these catch-up, miss your emails or times just didnโt match
Then you have to email/call them to confirm they want to move onto monthly & was it okay to charge their card on file
Something James mentioned during his keynotes was that they let new clients know during the sign-up process, that they move directly onto monthly at the end of their F.E.O
No more having to re-sell, just charging their card directly after they finish the F.E.O as a full member
This is something we have now started, beginning with the last intake that starts tomorrow
In the presentation, we mentioned that they move onto monthly at the end of the 6 weeks & the price, plus we have added it into the sign-up form in TeamUp, notifying them that if they do not wish to stay on, they will need to contact us via email to let us know
โค๏ธ Actually, I do have one more final note for this week’s post
We have been seeing a pattern with this change in model from an evergreen approach to now starting every 3 weeks
That pattern is that the final week before the next course starts, we always go in with very low sign-ups & that the final week is a major all-out attack generating leads from all angles
Increase in Paid Ads spend, sending out a lot more email newsletters, sending out big WhatsApp broadcasts & chasing down all old clients
This last week did start with a bit of an argument in the office that this keeps happening, we have now hopefully chatted about what we need to do to have a good proportion of the new members already signed up before the final week arrives
But I also need to say Holly did extra this week to ensure we had 13 for the onboarding meeting & another 3 signed up since Thursday to start this next challenge on Monday with 16
I can also see we have 2 more coming in tomorrow, so hopefully, we might have 18 starting tomorrow ๐ค
Be sure to keep an eye out for the Christmas costumes for our Christmas Ads campaign this week ๐คฃ
You got this ๐ช
